Helping clients that have or suspect they might have ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyper Activity Disorder) is my particular specialism. Typically session would take place either face to face at my consultation room in South Norwood (SE25) or online via Zoom. Evidence shows that either approach can be equally effective.
Current research suggests that ADHD impacts around 6% of the population. Quite shockingly, life expectancy of people that have undiagnosed ADHD is around 13 years less than the general population, receiving a diagnosis reduces this to around 7 years. Treatment reduces this still further.
ADHD often occurs alongside other mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. In fact, anxiety and depression is often the by-product of having ADHD. Treating the underlying ADHD can therefore help to alleviate these conditions and significantly improve mental health.
How it works?
The first step is to have an initial 50 minute consultation (charged at £45) to discuss what has brought you to counselling. You can choose whether you wish to have this over Zoom or in-person. During this consultation we would determine your next steps.
I have extensive experience with ADHD and know how it can impact self-esteem, relationships, work, studies and general day to day functioning and mental well being. Together we would look at understanding what might be going on and look at how that might be addressed in order to provide you with a better outlook for the future.
